volont\u00e0 di Benito Mussolini e legato all\u2019immagine di forza del regime fascista.<\/strong> Alta 27,50 metri, venne costruita in soli 150 giorni e si sviluppa su cinque piani.<\/p><p data-start=\"275\" data-end=\"710\"><strong>Al piano terra si trova il Sacrario dedicato ai martiri fascisti<\/strong>, con insegne e cimeli del periodo, e un bassorilievo marmoreo dello scultore Crocetti: al centro la Vittoria e, intorno, le allegorie di Lavoro, Famiglia, Milizia e Organizzazioni del Regime.<\/p><p data-start=\"275\" data-end=\"710\"><strong>Al primo piano c\u2019\u00e8 il Direttorio, con balcone affacciato su Piazza Roma,<\/strong> da cui Mussolini inaugur\u00f2 la citt\u00e0 il 18 dicembre 1938; <strong>gli altri piani ospitavano gli uffici del Fascio.<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"942\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Dopo la caduta del fascismo, la Torre ha perso la funzione politica originaria ed \u00e8 stata riconvertita:<\/strong> oggi ospita uffici comunali, restando una testimonianza storica e una delle principali attrazioni architettoniche di \u201cVillaggio Umberto\u201d nel dopoguerra Cortoghiana cambi\u00f2 nome e scenario economico, ma Piazza Venezia ha mantenuto il ruolo di centro di riferimento per incontri, manifestazioni e vita carbone<\/strong> e, negli anni Trenta, diventa un esempio significativo di urbanistica razionale.<\/p><p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"772\"><strong>Il nucleo pi\u00f9 antico \u00e8 connesso alle attivit\u00e0 estrattive gi\u00e0 nel XIX secolo. <\/strong>Tra il 1936 e il 1938 l\u2019abitato viene riorganizzato su progetto attribuito a Gustavo Pulitzer-Finali. <strong>Dal 1937 Bacu Abis viene inglobata nella nuova Carbonia e dotata di servizi comunali decentrati.<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"1339\"><strong>Il fulcro pi\u00f9 rappresentativo \u00e8 il sistema di piazze e slarghi<\/strong> su cui si affacciano luoghi della vita collettiva come dopolavoro e cineteatro, spaccio e Casa del Fascio, in rapporto diretto con <strong>la Chiesa di Santa Barbara, patrona dei minatori <\/strong>con navata unica, grande oculo in facciata, pietrame a vista, portico continuo e campanile quadrangolare, che univa quotidianit\u00e0 e rappresentazione del potere nello spazio
